Personal Background: I was born and raised in a Zoroastrian family from Yazd, Iran. My parents, instilled in me the values of community, service, and cultural preservation from a young age. Because of my strong interest in teaching, I pursued my education at the University of Kerman, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in English Language & Literature, with a focus on teaching. Then, I received my Master of Art in Education, Methodology from Shiraz University. In 2013, I received my associate degree in early childhood education and teaching, from De Anza College.

My family: "In 2013, our family, consisting of myself, my husband Farhad Falahati, and our two children, Nikoo (25) and Koosha (20), made the life-changing decision to leave our home in Shiraz and immigrate to the United States."

Work Experience: I started my career as a teacher, in Shokouh English Institute, Iran Language Institute and Dibagaran of Tehran, where I gained a deep understanding of teaching strategies. Then, I progressed to managerial roles, advising teachers on new teaching methodologies. After moving to U.S in 2013, I pursued my teaching interest in Stratford elementary school. From 2016 to 2022, I worked as a full-time employee at California Zoroastrian Center. I currently work at UCI Department of Medicine.

Involvement in the Community: I have always been an active member of the Zoroastrian community, believing in the importance of preserving and promoting the ancient traditions and values of our faith. I served on different Zoroastrian associations in Yazd, Kerman, Shiraz, San Jose for the biggest part of my life where I played a key role in organizing cultural events, publishing journals and running educational programs.

Relevant Skills and Expertise: My professional experience in California Zoroastrian Center , being San Jose board of director member and an active member of the other Zoroastrian groups, has equipped me with keen understanding of Zoroastrian community operational strategies.

Vision for the Future of the Zoroastrian Community: My envision is a thriving and vibrant Zoroastrian community that is united, progressive, and globally connected. Efforts will be made to educate the kids about their traditions, rituals, and scriptures, enabling them to appreciate and embrace their identity as Zoroastrians. As a board member, I plan to focus on promoting intergenerational dialogue, engaging young Zoroastrians, and fostering a sense of belonging and pride in their heritage. I aim to develop innovative initiatives that leverage technology to reach a wider audience and create opportunities for community young members to connect, collaborate and know each other.

Professionalism, Integrity, and Ethical Values: I have always tried to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical values throughout my personal and professional life. I uphold the highest standards of honesty and transparency, valuing open communication and accountability.

در خانواده ای زرتشتی در یزد به دنیا آمدم از همان دوران کودکی، پدر و مادرم احترام به ارزش های اجتماعی، خدمت به جامعه و حفظ آیین و فرهنگ ایرانی - زرتشتی را در من پرورش دادند. با الگو قرار دادن مادرم که آموزگاری سختکوش و فعال در کارهای اجتماعی و فرهنگی جامعه ی زرتشتی بود، من هم در بیشتر برنامه های دینی و ورزشی حضور فعالی داشتم. سال ٢٠١٣ میلادی من به همراه همسرم فرهاد فلاحتی و دو فرزندمان نیکو (٢۵ ساله) و کوشا (٢٠ ساله) از شیراز به ایالات متحده مهاجرت کردیم. مدرک لیسانس خود را در رشته ی ادبیات زبان انگلیسی از دانشگاه کرمان و مدرک فوق لیسانس خود را در رشته ی متدها ی آموزشی و روش های تدریس از دانشگاه شیراز دریافت نموده ام. همزمان با تحصیل، در موسسه شکوه و کانون زبان ایران و دیباگران تهران به عنوان مدرس پایه های مختلف زبان انگلیسی، تافل، ایلتس و تربیت کننده ی مربی مشغول به کار شدم. بعد از مهاجرت به آمریکا در شهر سن حوزه ساکن شدم و از دانشکده دی انزا مدرک خود را در آموزش کودکان گرفتم و در دبستان استرتفورد شروع به کار کردم. از سال ٢٠١۶ تا ٢٠٢٢ میلادی در دفتر مرکز زرتشتیان کالیفرنیا و از ٢٠٢٢ میلادی به بعد در دانشگاه یو سی ای مشغول به کار هستم.

 مشارکت در جامعه: همواره تلاش نموده ام که عضو فعالی در جامعه ی زرتشتی باشم و به حفظ و نگهداری سنت ها و آیین های دینی و فرهنگی اهمیت زیادی می دهم. در شهرهای یزد، کرمان، شیراز، سن خوزه و جنوب کالیفرنیا همراه با دیگر دوستان در گسترش و آموزش آموزه های اشو زرتشت کوشا بوده و نقش پر رنگی در برگزاری مراسم و کلاس ها داشته ام.

مهارتها و تخصص ها: ۵ سال کار با گروه امنا و گروه مدیران مرکز زرتشتیان کالیفرنیا و یک دوره به عنوان هموند گروه مدیره سن حوزه و شرکت در گروه های مختلف در یزد و شیراز و کرمان، به من مهارت و شناخت لازم از جوامع مختلف زرتشتیان را داده است.

تعهد به جامعه: به ارزش های جامعه ی زرتشتی باور دارم و به آن متعهد هستم وعلاقه ی فراوانی به رشد و پیشبرد آن دارم. همواره منافع جامعه را بر منافع شخصی ترجیح می دهم. به مشورت و کار گروهی باور دارم و خود را با گروه همسان می کنم.

چشمانداز آینده: به تقویت همازوری و دلبستگی در بین مردم جامعه به خصوص جوانان برای تقویت این آیین و فرهنگ اهورایی تاکید بسیاردارم تا نسل های آینده با میراث دینی و فرهنگی خود آشنا باشند و پایبند بمانند و ریشه ای برای رشد و پیشرفت داشته باشند. برای ایجاد منابع وفرصتهای لازم برای رشد شخصی و اجتماعی کودکان و جذب بیشتر جوانان جامعه زرتشتی برای ساختن یک جامعه پویا و کارآمد تلاش خواهم کرد. ازایده های نو برای پیشبرد جامعه و حفظ آرمان های زرتشتی و ترویج گفتگوی بین جوانان در همه جای دنیا حمایت می کنم.

 ارزش های اخلاقی: من همواره تلاش کرده ام که در زندگی شخصی و حرفه ای خود درستی و راستی را پیشه کنم و با رفتاری محترمانه و سخنانی شفاف فضایی دوستانه و پر از همیاری و همازوری و شادی ایجاد کنم و همواره تلاش می کنم تا اندیشه نیک، گفتار نیک و کردار نیک را سرمشق خود قرار دهم.
